Stars forecast Kochi
victory
February 28, 1998 The Indian Express NEW DELHI: It's almost three months since FC Kochin last played in Delhi.
This could be one of the many reasons why tomorrrow's Philips National
Football League should be a big crowd puller. But the primary reason, however,
is the Kerala team's star studded line-up IM Vijayan, Jo Paul Ancheri,
Carlton Chapman and Raman Vijayan. JCT have a lot of stake, reputation
and position in the pecking order being the most important among them.
Lying at the eight spot they will have to struggle to avoid relegation.
The last two teams from the ten in fray go down to the second division.
And nothing will be more embarassing for the defending champions JCT than
this. The Phagwara side is yet to make the best use of their `home' matches
as they have not won here since the opening tie against Churchill Brothers.
JCT have collected 16 points from 14 matches.
