NEW DELHI, OCT 24: Air India (Mumbai) stunned Mohun Bagan with a 75th-minute goal by Anthony Fernandez in the quarter-final league match of the Kelvinator-Durand Cup football tournament. Vasco Sports Club (Goa) managed a draw with defending champions FC Kochin.

Bagan earned a penalty-kick in the fourth minute after Friday Elaiho was brought down in the box. But Iraqi Basim Yonan's shot was cleared by a diving goalkeeper Mohammad Yusuf Ansari. Air India, thereafter, denied Bagan openings. In the 75th minute, Godfrey Pareira master-minded a move and fed Abbas Ali Rizvi, who sent it to an unmarked Fernandez whose crisp shot beat goalkeeper Dinesh. With Chima Okerie coming late in the second half, Bagan increased the pace in the last 10 minutes. But Air India defenders and goalkeeper Ansari warded away threats.

FC Kochin after leading the first half, struggled to hold an inspired Vasco. Kochin started on an offensive note and took lead in the 15th minute. Karunkar Raj put KK Jayan through on the leftwho lobbed the ball in and Abu Sidiki deflected in on the run. Down by a goal, Vasco stung back in the second half. Gregory Clark's attempt was saved by Kochin goalkeeper Ali Abubaker resulting in a flag-kick. On Clark's kick in the 54th minute, an unmarked Tony Okafor headed the ball in for the equaliser. In the dying minutes, CV Pappachan led the Kochin attack and sent in a cross to Kaustav Ghosh whose attempt was deflected by goalkeeper Joaquin Palha.
