KOCHI, January 11: FC Kochin and reigning champions Jagjit Cotton Textile Mills, Phagwara split points, sharing a goal each in a Philips National Football League match here today.

Mohammed Salissu struck first for the hosts in the 20th minute. His Ghanaian compatriot Abdul Kareem crossed in and the crowded defence only succeeded in `gifting' the ball to an unmarked Salissu who unleashed a thundering shot from top of the box that swerved into the goal that put the home team ahead.

Seriki Abdul Lateef's equalising goal which came in the injury time before the interval gave JCT the one point. From the right flank, Manjinder Singh essayed the ball to Stephan Abarowei who beat three defenders before making a rasping drive at the goal. While trying to tap the ball away, Kochin 'keeper Ali Abubakar could not connect it properly and Seriki made use of the situation by heading it in.
