NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation, flushed with its recent success in the National Football League, is planning to host an Independence Cup Football tournament at the year end.

The AIFF president, Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi revealed that the tournament would probably be held in two parts with Calcutta holding one and Kochi the other.

Eight club teams are likely to participate and of them, four will be from India and four foreign club sides will be invited. Dasmunshi plans to visit the FIFA headquarters in Zurich in June, where he hopes to finalise the details of the tournament.
